ST. LOUIS – The Missouri House is setting up a new committee to study earnings taxes.
They’re focused on the impact of the 1% tax on wages earned in St. Louis and other cities. St. Louis’ earnings tax makes up 36% of the city’s general revenue.
Republican leaders say they want to see how the tax is impacting employment and economic growth in the state.
