ALTON, Ill. — The Alton city council will hear a proposal Wednesday night about giving the Clark Bridge a facelift. The plan is to install LED lighting along the bridge.
The project costs nearly a million dollars and will create an artistic night skyline. It will also save money by dropping energy use on the bridge by about 73 percent and improving safety and security on the bridge.
The Clark Bridge first opened in 1994.
