ST. LOUIS — The family of a missing paraglider is asking for help from the public in searching for their missing loved one.
The missing person, Kenny Loudermilk, is described as a white male, 35 years old, six feet tall, with a full reddish-brown beard, and hazel eyes.
He was wearing an olive-colored beanie hat, a black coat, blue jeans, and brown work boots when he disappeared.
Loudermilk’s family is encouraging fishermen, hunters, and anyone from Washington, MO to St. Charles, MO to keep an eye out for any signs of Kenny or his gear.
Loudermilk’s gear consists of a black and orange paragliding wing, a red circular paramotor, a black backpack attached to the motor, and a black helmet.
He was paragliding from Hermann, Mo., but got separated from the flight instructor and his friend.
Loudermilk’s girlfriend was waiting for him at the checkpoint in Herman. The rest of the group landed with Loudermilk missing.
Witnesses in Washington, Mo., said they saw Loudermilk descending near the Washington Bridge and hitting the water.
They saw him go under but did not see him resurface.
Search & Rescue responded that evening. They suspended the search after sunset when there were no signs of life in the area, and opted to resume the efforts at 9 a.m. on October 27th.
Three cadaver dogs picked up a scent that evening, but again it was too dark to continue the search. At 9 a.m. on October 28th, the team resumed, but no updates now.
On Sunday, October 30th his loved ones will be holding a candlelight vigil at the James W. Rennick Riverfront Park at sunset.
Anyone is welcome to join and is encouraged to help spread awareness about Kenny’s disappearance.
